My Story
Four words: “You have breast cancer.”
In that moment, everything shifts. Fear takes hold, and one question echoes: “Will I survive?”
I remember hearing those words 23 years ago—and again 12 years ago. Each time, they changed my life forever. Today, about every two minutes, someone in the United States hears those same words.
My life experiences taught me we always have hope. I share that message with survivors every day. Helping women navigate the effects of breast cancer treatment and move toward a life of wellness and thriving has become part of my calling.
Susan G. Komen does more than raise awareness. The organization takes action to support people affected by breast cancer through research, patient care, education, and advocacy. And Terri’s Troopers is ready to roll for year 23!
Ending breast cancer takes all of us. Your generosity can make a real difference and remind people facing breast cancer that a community is standing beside them.
