This year, my birthday means something completely different.

September 30 isn't just another birthday for me. After going through breast cancer, treatment, surgeries and everything that came with that journey, I'm incredibly grateful to be here celebrating another year of life.

This year, instead of birthday gifts, I'm asking my family and friends to help me turn my birthday into something meaningful.

I'm creating Team Leidy Strong: Walking for a Cure for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk, and my birthday wish is to raise $1,000 for breast cancer research and support for women and families facing this disease.

You can support me in two ways: donate whatever you can even $10 or $20 makes a difference or come walk with me and be part of Team Leidy Strong.

I know firsthand how frightening a breast cancer diagnosis can be. I also know how much hope, research, treatment and support matter.

This birthday, I don't need presents. I want to celebrate being here by helping the next woman facing breast cancer.
