Walking in Honor of Our Beloved Tía Maria

Maria’s Libélulas was created in loving memory of our beautiful Tía Maria, a woman whose strength, courage, and passion left a lasting mark on all our hearts.

Our Tía Maria fought breast cancer bravely, facing her journey with a strength that inspired everyone around her. She taught us to be courageous in the face of adversity, to stand tall through life’s challenges, to believe in ourselves, and to never settle for less than we deserve.

Today, we walk in her honor at the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk, carrying her love, her spirit, and her legacy with every step. Although she is no longer physically by our side, her strength continues to guide us, her love continues to unite us, and her memory gives us a reason to keep fighting.

Like libélulas (dragonflies), we represent strength, transformation, resilience, and hope. We are a family united by love and inspired by a woman who showed us what it truly means to be brave.

We walk for Tía Maria. We walk for those still fighting. We walk for those we have lost. And we walk for a future where no family has to endure the pain of losing someone they love to breast cancer.

Her fight became our inspiration. Her courage became our strength. Her love became our purpose.

Forever our inspiration, forever in our hearts, and forever our reason to walk.
