On October 31, 2025, my world changed with three words: "You have cancer." I was diagnosed with Stage 2A triple-negative breast cancer, and in an instant, life as I knew it came to a halt.

As a wife and a mom to three amazing boys, my first thoughts weren't about me. They were about my family. I wondered how this diagnosis would affect them, if I would be okay, and how we would get through what was ahead.

The months that followed were some of the most challenging of my life. I endured chemotherapy, hospitalizations, surgery, and now continue treatment with immunotherapy and radiation. There were days I felt completely exhausted, scared, and overwhelmed. There were moments I questioned why this was happening. But through every appointment, every treatment, every setback, and every victory, God reminded me that I was never walking this journey alone.

My husband stood beside me every step of the way. My boys gave me a reason to keep fighting, even on the days I didn't feel strong. My family, friends, and community surrounded me with prayers, meals, messages, and love that carried me when I couldn't carry myself. I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am for every person who has supported me.

Cancer has changed me. It has taught me to slow down, to appreciate the little moments, and to never take a single day for granted. It has shown me the incredible strength that can be found in faith, hope, and the kindness of others.

Today, I walk as someone who has faced one of life's hardest battles and refuses to let it define me. I walk for those who are still fighting. I walk for the survivors. I walk in memory of those we've lost. And I walk believing that one day, through research and continued support, more families will be spared from hearing the words, "You have cancer."

That's why I created Team SAVE SECOND BASE. The name may bring a smile, but the mission is deeply personal. Every step we take helps raise awareness, fund life-saving research, and support people and families whose lives have been forever changed by breast cancer.

If my journey has taught me anything, it's that hope is stronger than fear, and no one should have to fight alone.
