My Story
To my friends and family,
It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since I last reached out to ask for your support of this important cause. I’m here again because, unfortunately, breast cancer has not gone away. I truly believe there will be a day in the not too distant future when breast cancer is cured. Until then, I will continue doing whatever I can to help make that day a reality.
On October 25, I will be participating in the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk to raise funds for breast cancer research, treatment, and patient support. I am also honored to serve on the board of this incredible organization.
This year marks 44 years of Susan G. Komen’s unwavering commitment to ending breast cancer. The organization has invested $3.6 billion in the fight against the disease, funded more than 2,800 research grants, and helped contribute to a 42% decline in breast cancer mortality since 1989. At a time when government-funded research is facing significant cuts, support from organizations like Susan G. Komen is more critical than ever. Donations from events like this help ensure that lifesaving research continues and that progress toward a cure does not slow down.
Having undergone treatment for Stage IV breast cancer in 2022, this mission is deeply personal to me. I am asking for your support by making a donation to Susan G. Komen through my walk fundraising page. And if you would like to join me and walk together, I would absolutely love that.
Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and support. Every donation, no matter the size, helps bring us one step closer to a world without breast cancer.
With love and gratitude,
Melanie
