We are Hornets for Hope—a team of educators from the Manchester Essex Regional School District, coming together for a cause that hits close to home.

At Essex Elementary School, we know the power of a community that shows up for one another. We see it every day in our classrooms, our hallways, and in the relationships we share with our colleagues and school families.

Breast cancer has affected our school community in very real and personal ways. We work alongside our colleagues who have faced breast cancer, supported loved ones through their journeys, and continue to carry the impact of this disease with them.

That’s why we walk.
We walk for them.🩷

We walk for the fighters.
We walk for the survivors.
We walk for those still facing their battle.
We walk in memory of those we’ve lost.
And we walk with hope for a future where fewer families have to hear the words, “You have breast cancer.”

Our school district’s mascot is the hornet a small but mighty reminder that there is strength in working together. Just like a swarm, we are stronger when we stand together, support one another, and share a common purpose.

Every step we take is a step toward awareness, research, better treatment, and a cure.
