My Story
I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost exactly 4 years ago. Breast cancer treatment has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I felt like so much was out of my control. I did not like any of the treatment options, but I knew that I needed to do them. In my attempts to regain some control, I committed to daily exercise, eating healthy, and giving up alcohol. I continue on endocrine therapy and have scans twice a year to watch for recurrence.
In the 4 years since my diagnosis, my good friend from college has had her second battle with breast cancer, my sister-in-law has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and my aunt (and godmother) has died from breast cancer. One in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. This statistic is both sad and shocking!
I am joining my sister-in-law to walk in Boston this October to raise money to support breast cancer research and women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Please consider supporting me by making a donation today.
