WHY I WALK
In 2019, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear: “You have breast cancer.” I was fortunate to receive early treatment that included a lumpectomy and 28 rounds of radiation. This year I had an another scare, but what was found was non- cancerous. Today, seven years later, I’m grateful to be a breast cancer survivor.
My journey has taught me so much—not only about my own strength, but about the strength of so many others. One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been learning from the experiences of other women. Every story is different, but sharing our journeys reminds us that we are not alone.
It has also deepened my belief in the importance of equitable access to healthcare. Everyone deserves the opportunity to receive quality care, to be heard, to have their concerns taken seriously, and to feel supported throughout their journey.
That’s why I’m participating in the Pink Walk.
I’m walking for those who are currently fighting breast cancer, for survivors, for those we have lost, and for the families whose lives have been changed by this disease. I’m also walking for a future where everyone has an equal opportunity to receive the care and support they deserve.
I’m asking you to walk with me by supporting my fundraiser. Any donation, large or small, would mean so much to me and will help support this important cause.
Thank you for being part of my life and for considering supporting me on this journey.
