In March 2021 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (the most aggressive form of breast cancer). I felt a lump in my left breast, five days later I was scheduled for a mammogram upon insistence from my Aunt, I was given the news the day of my exam. I felt like someone had punched me really hard in my stomach as the news was gut wrenching. I went through 5 months of chemotherapy, 6 weeks of radiation, and a lumpectomy. I am the 3rd woman in my family that had been diagnosed with breast cancer and prayerfully the last. I lost my maternal grandmother and maternal aunt. However, it is 2024 and I am alive and well and in my 3rd year of being cancer-free! My life is forever changed and I am so thankful to God for allowing me to see another day! God is so good
