My Story

Caribbean entrepreneur Chef Christian Barruos-Brens began his culinary journey at 16 to support his mother during her battle with breast and thyroid cancer. Starting with brownies on a bicycle, he expanded his business through Uber Eats. Inspired by his late father and his love for Cuban coffee, he created the acclaimed 'Cafecito Brownie.' Now a two-time award-winning chef, Christian has earned the Golden Plate for Best Dessert in Miami and the People's Choice Best Dessert at OBFW 2024. His resilience and culinary skills have made him one of the youngest notable figures in the industry, featured on numerous TV networks, newsletters, and magazines.

This year, Christian joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. Dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, he is reaching out for support. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of his fundraising efforts.

Your support helps get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s financial assistance program, or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.

Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.

Will you please join Christian in this fight by making your donation today?
