Do I get a t-shirt?
All registered participants will receive an event t-shirt. The shirts for survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will be in special colors to recognize their role in our event.
Register early to receive your shirt before event day!
How will I get my t-shirt?
If you register for the Race by Sunday, August 18, 2024, your shirt will be mailed and delivered the week of the Race*.
If you register for the Race after Sunday, August 18, 2024 you can pick up your shirt on race morning.
*Shirts are being mailed via USPS. As with any shipping provider, delays may occur.
2024 Limited Edition Shirt
We are excited and proud to bring you the limited edition shirt for the 2024 Detroit Race! To earn your 2024 limited edition shirt, you must be registered for the race AND fundraise or self-donate $125 individually. The deadline is race day, Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST. All limited edition shirts will be mailed post-race in October to those who qualify. You will receive an email when it ships including a tracking number. No in-person pick up will be available.

Race Expo, VIP, Hope Village, and Kids Zone open
8:00 a.m. | Warm up; Survivor Activities begin; Survivor program and parade to follow
9:00 a.m. | Opening Ceremony begins
9:30 a.m. | 5K Run/Walk begins; 1 mile Family Fun Walk immediately follows

Can’t join us Race morning? Hop on the treadmill, take to your neighborhood sidewalks or the paths of your favorite local park or trail wherever you’re able to gather with friends, family, and team members near you.

Timing Chips:
Every registered 5k participant will receive a timing chip, which is included with your cost of a 5k registration.

How long is the Race?
The 2024 Komen Detroit Race for the Cure will be 3.1 miles in length, or you may choose to run or walk our shorter 1 mile route.
Where is the start line and the finish line?

Is this race chip timed?
Yes, for 5k participants only. Please see the Timing Chip section for all the details.
Will there be awards for timed runners/age categories?

Getting to the Event and Parking
Please refer to Milliken Park suggested parking on their website. There are numerous open lots and parking structures around the Race site.

Are strollers allowed at the event?
Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!
Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?
Yes! Dogs are allowed to join us on the course and in the event area. Please keep your pet(s) leashed at all times for the safety of your pet and other event participants.
Can I walk the Race?
Absolutely! You can walk the 5k route or we have a shorter 1-mile distance available just for walkers. If you choose to walk the 5k route, please line up behind the runners at the start line/in the area designated for walkers.
For people with cancer or those with compromised immune systems, the CDC and NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) still recommends wearing a mask, social distancing, washing your hands, avoiding crowds, and other preventive measures.
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, we will race for the people who can't: For those too weakened by treatment to join. For those who are suffering. For those we have lost. Together we will fight back against breast cancer.
