What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
As a plastic surgeon who works closely with breast cancer patients, I see firsthand the physical and emotional journey they go through. Reconstruction is often an important step in helping women regain a sense of wholeness and confidence after treatment. Susan G. Komen’s commitment to research, education, and patient support aligns deeply with my own mission—to not only care for patients surgically, but to support their healing and quality of life beyond cancer. Being connected to Komen means being part of a larger community working to ensure that fewer women have to face this disease and that those who do have access to the care and support they deserve.
What makes you VIPink?
What makes me VIPink is my dedication to standing beside breast cancer patients at one of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Through my work, I have the privilege of helping women rebuild both physically and emotionally after breast cancer. Supporting the VIPink mission allows me to extend that care beyond the operating room—raising awareness, supporting research, and advocating for better outcomes for every person affected by breast cancer. Being VIPink means using my voice, my expertise, and my compassion to help move us closer to a world without breast cancer.
