What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
My connection to Susan G. Komen is derived from my personal experiences, both as a son and as a primary care physician. A few years ago, my mother had her own personal scare concerning breast cancer. Fortunately, everything turned out well for us, but I saw up close how traumatic and frightening the experience could be. As a physician, I have personally seen and felt the pain of breast cancer many times.
What makes you VIPink?
I know how important the Susan G. Komen Foundation is to the cause of fighting breast cancer. I am inspired on a daily basis regarding the horrors of breast cancer and I understand the tremendous need to stand with my patients.
What will be your competitive edge against your fellow ambassadors?
They all are great guys and are very admirable, but I don't think any less of myself. I see the importance of tackling breast cancer every day and respectfully intend on being very competitive and relentless.
Give us one fun fact about you.
My most cherished possession (after my family of course) is a selfie pic I took with NBA player Serge Ibaka (absolutely one of the nicest guys I ever met) who I randomly met at a local Walgreens in 2015.
Ending breast cancer needs compassion, research, policy support and care. Ending breast cancer needs all of us.
