It is the year 2026 and we still struggle for access to education and screening for a common, deadly cancer. While not the worst area in the country, the Houston area has considerable inequity with access to care, despite its thriving economy. This is a result of its large underinsured population coupled with economic vulnerability. This is not ok. I hope to serve as an example to get this moving in the right direction NOW. Harris County is the second largest county in the US with the best medical center in the world yet continues to struggle with adequate resources to educate and advocate for all people. I came out of the gate strong, but I know you can help even more during this Women's History Month! Help me stand with H.E.R.!
