Saving lives and ending breast cancer forever is the core of Susan G. Komen's mission. That's why I've joined Komen as a VIPink Ambassador. I'm fundraising for this incredible cause to help ensure that no one has to face breast cancer alone.
It's my goal to raise as much as I can to support Komen's vision of a world without breast cancer.
Komen is the only breast cancer organization taking a comprehensive, 360-degree approach to fight breast cancer across all fronts by funding lifesaving research, advocating for compassionate public policy, providing access to high-quality care and financial assistance, and ensuring patient support every step of the way.
Ending breast cancer needs compassion, research, policy support and care. Ending breast cancer needs all of us.

What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
My mother is a ten year survivor of breast cancer, and this October will mark ten years since she rang the bell to complete her treatment. Every time I take part in this campaign, which I'm in my fifth year of, I do this for her! Additionally, former KVUE meteorologist and current WFAA (Dallas) meteorologist Mariel Ruiz recently completed her own treatment for triple-negative breast cancer, adding more of a personal connection!
What makes you VIPink?
I have a unique swagger as an on-air personality that will really resonate with the audience, especially here in Austin where surely there are many breast cancer survivors or those who know someone who's either dealing with or has dealt with the disease are watching.
What will be your competitive edge against your fellow ambassadors?
The unique fact that I am a meteorologist in the fastest growing media market in America gives me an edge because I'm the most visible face amongst the competitors.
Give us one fun fact about you…
I've been a meteorologist at KVUE for what'll be four years in April, and have lived in Texas since November of 2020.
