What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
Breast cancer has touched my life personally through close friends who have battled this disease. Watching their courage throughout diagnosis, treatment, and recovery showed me the physical and emotional toll of breast cancer, as well as the critical importance of support systems and accessible resources. I cannot truly understand what they've gone through, but I can try to help others in the honor. Their strength inspires me daily, and supporting Komen's mission is my way of honoring their journeys while working toward a future where others won't have to face this fight. Every fundraising dollar and awareness effort brings us closer to ending breast cancer, and that's a cause I'm deeply committed to.
What makes you VIPink?
What truly makes me VIPink is the genuine joy I find in being a connector. Bridging people with Komen's incredible resources while actively participating in events that make a real difference. I thrive on helping others discover the support, education, and community that Komen provides, whether that's guiding someone to screening resources, sharing survivor stories, or simply being present at events to create an uplifting atmosphere. There's something powerful about seeing people come together around hope and action, and being part of that energy. Helping others while serving this mission fills my heart in ways few other things do.
What will be your competitive edge against your fellow ambassadors?
I am not competing against my fellow ambassadors. We are all working towards a goal far better than all of us combined. I have a naturally extroverted personality and genuine enthusiasm for connecting with people from all walks of life. I don't just meet people, I build relationships and create meaningful conversations that inspire action. Whether I'm networking in professional settings or engaging with my community, I have a knack for making people feel heard, valued, and motivated to get involved. I'll leverage my extensive professional network, my comfort with public speaking and outreach, and my authentic passion for this cause to help us meet our goals. I've always said, individually, we are strong, but together, we are unstoppable.
Give us one fun fact about you.
I'm a devoted parent to one exceptionally spoiled cat who rules the household with an iron paw! My feline companion has trained me well in the art of meeting demands-which has surprisingly translated into excellent negotiation skills that I plan to put to good use in fundraising. If I can convince my cat that 3 AM is not an acceptable breakfast time, I can certainly convince people to support this incredible cause!
