What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
Having lost my grandmother to metastatic breast cancer, watching my mother battle stage 4 with all of the complications that follow, facing my own lumpectomy in 2010, and other close women facing this terrible disease in my friends and extended family group, I feel a profound connection to Susan G. Komen’s mission. My nearly 10 years of prior participation in the 3-Day walk reflect my dedication to helping end breast cancer through awareness, advocacy, and fundraising.
What makes you VIPink?
My personal experiences with breast cancer, as well as my work in rare disease and oncology drug development make me VIPink.
What will be your competitive edge against your fellow ambassadors?
My competitive edge is that I have a network of colleagues in pharma with the same drive to end breast cancer plus too many friends and family with a personal story to drive them to also support the fight which will bring more attention to the cause and campaign.
