What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer? Like many families, we have had our own family members impacted by breast cancer. I was shaken to my core a few years ago when I heard those words from my wife's scan "We found an anomaly". Thankfully for my wife, that discovery turned out to be benign but the feeling of helplessness in that moment, until we knew for sure, and even the possibility of another occurrence with her or my daughter possibly having this, will mean this cause will forever live in the fabric of my being.
What makes you VIPink? Standing with survivors, honoring those we have lost and using whatever little influence I have in this world to support the mission to ensure that one day no one has to face this disease.
What will be your competitive edge against your fellow ambassadors? In 34 years, I have never let my wife down on anything, this will not be the thing that breaks that streak!! The other Pink Ties better be ready for a good scrap on this one.
Give us one fun fact about you. I am a Golden Shellback. I served 8 years in the Navy and on one return from deploying to the Middle East we crossed the Equator and the International Date line where they intersect earning the title Golden Shellback!! It is one of the five rarest distinctions in the Navy.
