What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer? My wife’s cancer diagnosis and family history of breast cancer connects me to Susan G. Komen. A cancer diagnosis is devastating and knowing there are organizations dedicated to research and finding a cure gives hope. If there’s a way to prevent more people from hearing the words, “You have breast cancer,” I want to be part of that mission and support the fight to end this disease.
What makes you VIPink? My wife is a breast cancer survivor, and I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and impact of this disease. Her journey has given me a deep appreciation for the importance of awareness, research, and support for those affected by breast cancer. By being a Pink Tie Guy, I have the opportunity to advocate for life-saving advancements and stand alongside others in the fight to end breast cancer.
What will be your competitive edge against your fellow ambassadors? I'm a firefighter, and let’s be honest, everyone loves firefighters! I mean, who else shows up to save the day, slides down poles for fun, and can rock a Pink Tie like it's part of the uniform? Plus, if things heat up in the competition, I’ve got plenty of experience handling the fire! LOL!!!
Give us one fun fact about you. I’m a proud husband and father of three amazing kiddos! I love golf, snow skiing, vacationing with my family, and soaking up time at both the beach and the mountains. A good cup of coffee and a great conversation with a friend are some of my favorite things—oh, and one of my biggest pet peeves? When DJs talk over the best part of your favorite song. Seriously, just let it play!
