This year I registered for the Komen Vermont Ride for the Cure because I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer. I ride in honor of my beautiful mother Linda Jean Manning who was taken by this disease when she was so very young with four little kids in tow during the prime of her life. In those days, the treatment was so less sophisticated in every way. My mother's hope was that a cure would be found in my lifetime.
Riding and being around horses in nature connects us to our soul and allows us to tap into the connection of healing, peace, freedom and energy. The Ride is a perfect place for me to place my commitment to help spread awareness of this disease and to support finding a cure.
We have formed a team at Dover Saddlery and we all ride in honor of all of those who have fought this battle and continue to live their best lives with breast cancer. We honor those that have dedictaed their time to join the medical field, research, social work, fundraising, and general support to help build awareness of the disease, continue to push science forward, and ultimately find the cure.
Funds raised help support Komen's work to save lives through breakthrough research, advocacy and to support patients, including through Komen's Breast Care Helpline, Clinical Trial Information Helpline, Treatment Assistance Program and other direct patient support services. Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer and we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That is our promise.
If you'd like to make a donation today in support of my fundraising efforts, you can donate online with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer.
Thank you all for your support. I appreciate your thoughtful consideration. We do our best to help each other and make a healthier future for our children.
Peace and love,
Whitney
