What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?

I'm SO proud to be the very first WARRIOR BigWig.  My Warrior BigWig fundraising is in honor of ALL the local breast cancer warriors who are in a battle for their own health.

At this year's Blue Jeans & Bling Gala, the recipient of the first annual Ann Marie Doeden's Warrior Award will be announced. This award will be granted to someone in Wisconsin whose actions have greatly impacted our local fight against breast cancer. My BigWig fundraising also honors this award recipient who, like the Warrior award namesake, has picked up and carried the torch on behalf of every breast cancer patient and their families. A person who, like Ann Marie, embodies a fighting spirit and passion for making life better for those around them.

Where might people get to see you with your wig on?

In some ways, I feel like I will be EVERYWHERE! I sure hope that people will think of me whenever they see someone they know battling breast cancer. The breast cancer journey is a tough and very personal battle. We all play a role in supporting these local warriors! And we can all help ensure that our most vulnerable local breast cancer patients have affordable, local access to the quality care and resources they need regardless of income, insurance, or geography. And while we're at it, let's make sure that we keep funding breakthrough breast cancer research. We need new treatments to keep coming. We need to keep searching for the cures to breast cancer that we know are possible. Thanks for supporting me and ALL of this year's fantastic BigWigs!

What will be your competitive edge against the other BigWigs?

This year my identity is a mystery. But be on the lookout - You never know when I'll pop up to ask YOU to support my fundraising efforts! Maybe I'll have special appeal to all those folks who love a good mystery or maybe to those who just don't know which BigWig to support! I sure hope my mysterious ways will work in my favor. Remember, if you figure out who I am, you will be part of the mystery (and my fundraising) as well!
