What makes you feel connected to Susan G. Komen and our mission to end breast cancer?
Losing close friends to cancer and witnessing experiences of survivors close to me has ignited my passion to help end this terrible disease. When a colleague and friend asked me to lead this fundraising effort, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I am thankful for this opportunity to play a role in raising awareness and funding research. Komen’s commitment to making a tangible difference in eradicating breast cancer while helping impacted individuals and their families resonates deeply with me. I would like to do more to support this vital work.
Where might people get to see you with your wig on?
I plan to wear the wig at work, during calls and meetings, in the hallways, etc. I will wear it in my neighborhood as well when hanging out with friends and neighbors.
What will be your competitive edge against the other BigWigs?
I am an extrovert, and have a wide network. Ultimately, my competitors are also my allies. The more we raise, the more everyone wins. I am also harnessing the power of the GE HealthCare Foundation Colleague Matching Gifts Program! Go check out https://gehealthcare.box.com/s/9uarcd5tls4xzaoue8m1s2qi53imr0vy to learn more!
What is one fun fact about you?
I hate getting my hair messed up, so wearing a wig will be a big deal for me, but this cause is worth it.
