Thank you to everyone that joined us for the Susan G. Komen West Region MORE THAN PINK Walk Kickoff! This event introduced participants to new Komen staff, provided organizational updates and showcased the rollout of our new incentive program!

San Diego Walk Launch Party | Sunday, September 28 | 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. PDT
Join us as we raise a glass to kick off this year’s MORE THAN PINK Walk! Enjoy delicious food and drinks at the Miramar Mission Brewery location while connecting with Komen staff, Executive Leadership Committee members, community partners, and fellow supporters — and get inspired for Walk Day! Take a behind-the-scenes brewery tour and browse our raffle items, where you can win exciting items all in support of the fight against breast cancer. You’ll also have the opportunity to register for the Walk, if you haven’t already. Bring your friends, family, and teammates — everyone is welcome! RSVP TODAY!

Explore our four pillar zones (Research, Care, Community and Action), visit the “We Remember” tent, meet our valued sponsors and more. Don’t forget to pick up your commemorative Komen Wrap for the Opening Ceremony.

7:10 a.m. | Survivors and those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer meet at Hope Village
Don't forget to pick up a commemorative gift bag. Quantities are limited and on first-come, first-serve basis. Meet Hope, our ShareForCures unicorn mascot! Hope represents ShareForCures, Komen’s newest breast cancer research registry aimed at accelerating the search for cures.

While in Hope Village make sure you grab a postcard on ShareForCures, Komen’s breast cancer research registry focused on finding the cures for breast cancer. Learn how you can accelerate discoveries, make an impact, and be a catalyst for change!

7:15 a.m. | Warm-up led by Orangetheory Fitness
As our opening ceremony approaches, we will be led in a warm-up by our Walk partner, Orangetheory Fitness.

Pathway of Hope/Survivor Parade | 7:10 a.m.
All survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer are invited to walk into our Opening Ceremony as a symbol of unity and hope for our community. Gather directly outside Hope Village to queue for the parade.

Your Event T-shirt

All registered breast cancer survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will receive a special event shirt to recognize your special place in our event. To guarantee your shirt arrives in time for you to wear it on event morning, you must register by Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CT.

Start your day with the Walkabout Team in the Top Teams Village! Enjoy coffee, breakfast bites, and exclusive giveaways. Walkabout members will also receive a refreshing coconut. Don’t miss this special experience!

Top Teams – Teams who raise $3,500+

Every team that raises $3,500 or more will be invited to have a tent in our Top Teams Village. We encourage our top teams to bring snacks, drinks and items to share with team members. The deadline to raise $3,500 as a team and receive a team tent is Friday, October 17.

Local T-Shirt Details

We are now mailing all shirts for $100+ fundraisers, survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer. In order to receive your shirt in time for Walk day*, you must register and/or fundraise $100+ by . Survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer who register, and participants who raise $100, after will receive your shirt(s) by mail after the event. The final cut-off date for participants to raise $100 and receive a shirt is .

Please note: there will be no t-shirts available for pick up either pre-event or on event day. Thank you for your commitment to Susan G. Komen and our efforts to simplify our t-shirt process.

*Shirts are being mailed via USPS. As with any shipping provider, delays may occur.


How long is the Walk?

The will be approximately 2.5 miles in length. Please note our route travels along highway SR 163 with a steep incline on the Quince Street exit ramp. A 1 mile route through Balboa Park will be available for those who do not wish to walk along the freeway and encounter the incline of the Quince Street exit ramp.

Getting to the Event and Parking

Parking & Transportation: Plan Ahead for a Smooth Walk Day

Parking will be available at the Inspiration Point parking lot. Shuttles will be provided starting at 6:15 a.m. for participants who park in this area. Please allow extra time for parking and shuttling to the event site.

From Old Naval Hospital to Event Site
Start time — 6:15 a.m.
End time — 9:00 a.m.
Pick up location — Old Naval Hospital parking lot SE Corner
Drop off location — 5th Avenue North of Laurel

From Event Site to Old Naval Hospital
Start time — 9:00 a.m.
End time — 11:00 a.m.
Pick up location — 4th Ave, north of Laurel Southbound
Drop off location — Old Naval Hospital Parking Lot

Do not attempt to drive to the Walk Event Site from the east side of Balboa Park, as you will not be able to drive across the Laurel Street Bridge. If you prefer to walk to the start line from the east side of the park, plan to allow 15 to 20 minutes for the scenic one mile walk to the starting area located on the west side of Balboa Park.

We strongly encourage you to carpool, take the MTS bus, trolley, or be dropped off in Balboa Park.

Are strollers allowed at the event?

Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!

Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?

Yes! Dogs are allowed to join us on the course and in the event area. Please keep your dog(s) leashed at all times for the safety of your pet and other event participants.

What is the deadline for fundraising?

All donations on your behalf will be credited to your fundraising total and will be eligible for fundraising incentives. To receive a Fundraising T-shirt, you must raise $100 by at 11:59 p.m. CT.

ShareForCures

Ready to make your fundraising legendary? Participants who raise $2,500 or more for any 2025 MORE THAN PINK Walk, including the 2025 Komen San Diego MORE THAN PINK Walk, 2025 Race for the Cure, or 2025 3-Day will be recognized as members of the 2025 Komen Legends Club. Once you become a Legend, you’ll receive exclusive benefits, including a commemorative lapel pin. Additional information will be emailed to participants as they approach $2,500 in fundraising.
