HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY LAPS FOR HOPE

Join us this October at Laps for Hope, a Homestead-Miami Speedway Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Oct. 12. Ticket includes admission to the walk, a donation to Komen and tickets to the NASCAR race on Oct. 27. We invite your local business, group or organization to get involved and help Florida Go Pink this October.

Explore our four pillar zones (Research, Care, Community and Action), visit the “We Remember” tent, meet our valued sponsors and more. Don’t forget to pick up your commemorative Komen Wrap for Opening Ceremony.

8:15 a.m. | Warm-Up Stretch

8:20 a.m. | Survivors and those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer meet at Hope Village
Don’t miss your opportunity to be in our survivor parade and our group photo! This is also when we’ll get ready for the Opening Ceremony.

While in Hope Village make sure you grab a postcard on ShareForCures, Komen’s breast cancer research registry focused on finding the cures for breast cancer. Learn how you can accelerate discoveries, make an impact, and be a catalyst for change!

Honor survivors, those currently in treatment and those living with metastatic breast cancer as they walk down the Pathway of Hope; celebrate our top fundraisers; and listen to inspiring stories of resilience.

This event is a celebration of the strength and resilience of survivors and all people living with metastatic breast cancer. We honor these members of our community at:

Hope Village Celebration | 7:00 a.m.

Join us in the Hope Village area for a free hot breakfast & coffee for you and 1 guest, fun giveaways, photos and fellowship with other breast cancer survivors and those currently living with metastatic breast cancer.

Pathway of Hope/Survivor Parade | 8:20 a.m.

Walk day is all about our survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer! All will walk, united, into our Opening Ceremony.

Your Event T-shirt

All registered breast cancer survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will receive a special event shirt to recognize your special place in our event. To guarantee your shirt arrives in time for you to wear it on event morning, you must register by Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CT.

Activities for Top Fundraisers & Teams

Susan G. Komen’s work would not be possible without our fundraisers. It is our honor to recognize those fundraisers who go above and beyond with their efforts and support – our Top Individuals and Top Teams. 

Top Fundraisers – Individuals who raise $1,000+

On event morning, follow the Top Fundraiser signs to the area reserved just for you! You’ll be gifted a special Top Fundraiser item to help you stand apart from the crowd, and we invite you to pop in and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks provided by generous local partners. 

Your Walk T-shirt

All top fundraisers will earn this year’s commemorative event shirt. To guarantee your shirt arrives in time for you to wear it on Walk morning, you must have raised your first $100 by Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. CT. (Survivors are not required to fundraise to receive a shirt). If you do not register and fundraise your first $100 prior to 11:59 PM on Sunday December 29, 2024, please allow 6-8 weeks after the Walk occurs for your survivor t-shirt to arrive in the mail.

Top Teams – Teams who raise $5,000+

Every team that raises $5,000 or more by Friday, January 17, 2025, will have the opportunity to receive a free tent and table in our Top Teams area. We encourage our top teams to bring snacks, drinks and items to share with your team members.

Local T-Shirt Details

We are now mailing all shirts for $100+ fundraisers, survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer. In order to receive your shirt in time for Walk day*, you must register and/or fundraise $100+ by at 11:59 CT. Survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer who register, and participants who raise $100, after at 11:59 CT will receive your shirt(s) by mail after the event. The final cut-off date for participants to raise $100 and receive a shirt is at 11:59 CT.

Please note: there will be no t-shirts available for pick up either pre-event or on event day. Thank you for your commitment to Susan G. Komen and our efforts to simplify our t-shirt process.

*Shirts are being mailed via USPS. As with any shipping provider, delays may occur. Shirts are made to order, so please allow 6-8 weeks following the day of the Walk to receive your T-shirt(s) in the mail.

How long is the Walk?

The will be approximately 2 miles in length.

Getting to the Event and Parking

Please check back closer to the event for detailed parking information and event maps.

Parking will be available in any City of West Palm Beach garages, with the closest parking in the Evernia Garage Currently, parking is $5 per car on the weekends, please check their website (https://www.wpb.org/government/parking-administration) in advance for garage locations and for any rate increases.

Ditch the stress of parking and catch a ride to the MORE THAN PINK WALK with Palm Tran! Ride Route 1 and get dropped off at Clematis and Quadrille, only a 5 minute walk away from Meyer Amphitheater.

Are strollers allowed at the event?

Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!

Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?

Yes! Dogs are allowed to join us on the course and in the event area. Please keep your pet(s) leashed at all times for the safety of your pet and other event participants. Please be responsible and bring waste bags to the walk and dispose of waste accordingly.

What is the deadline for fundraising?

All donations on your behalf that are received through Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CT will be credited to your fundraising total and will be eligible for fundraising incentives.
