At 9 months postpartum I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. March 2026 my world changed overnight. The week i was inpatient at Dartmouth hospital I had to stop breastfeeding my son and begin radiation and chemotherapy. My oncologists said I’ll be on this treatment of chemotherapy for as long as It works, indefinitely. My prognosis was 3-5 years to live. I’m determined to live as long as possible for my son and my family. Imaging I had in May, after just 3 rounds of chemo and 10 sessions of radiation showed a remarkable response to treatment. Many of the tumors were gone completely or had shrunk, and physically I was feeling normal again. I have chemo every 3 weeks and on a daily basis I’m busy chasing after my one year old son and occasionally working shifts at the hospital as an X-ray tech. I want to participate in this fundraiser to show other survivors and people living with stage 4 cancer that life can be still be joyful. The strongest people I’ve met in my life are mothers, they make it look easy in the face of adversity and hardship. I will always be a source of strength for my son and my family.
