My Story
I walk in support of our daughter Melissa's legacy in her fight to end breast cancer.
"Sweet Melissa" passed away at the age of 36 from metastatic breast cancer after a 4 year fight. She left behind her husband and 2 young daughters. She left this world when it needed her most as she counseled adults with breast cancer going through radiation treatments. She also counseled teenagers who were cutters, those with bipolar disorders and those with suicidal tendencies.
3 years after her passing, Melissa received her Doctor of Psychology degree posthumously. Receiving her doctorate was very important to her so much so she completed her studies and dissertation in the last months of her life.
Her doctoral dissertation was titled "A Systematic Review and Narrative Synthesis to Explore the Effectiveness of the Management of Fear after Breast Cancer Diagnosis."
Melissa never gave up her fight for others against breast cancer, so we cannot!
To honor her legacy I have serve as an Komen Advocacy Ambassador and Chair the Board of Directors for Central Texas.
Please consider a donation to end breast cancer and to help team Sweet Melissa continue Melissa's legacy of providing hope and support to others.
Many thanks for your generosity and support!
