In Honor of Jackie Kirby
Once again this year, I am proud to be part of the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk, joining a community united by one powerful goal: ending breast cancer forever. I am committed to supporting Komen's mission, and I am asking for your help by making a tax-deductible donation in support of my fundraising efforts.
When I first joined this walk, I did so because breast cancer is something that has touched all of us in some way. Whether it's a family member, friend, colleague, or loved one, few people go through life without feeling the impact of this disease. Over the years, that impact has become deeply personal for me as I have watched several friends and loved ones face cancer diagnoses and experience the physical, emotional, and financial challenges that come with them.
One moment, however, changed my connection to this cause forever. In 2023, the day after I completed the MORE THAN PINK Walk, one of my very best friends, Jackie Kirby, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The timing was devastating, and the news hit me in a way I can hardly put into words. What followed was a journey that would inspire me more than I ever imagined.
This year, I am dedicating my walk to Jackie.
Jackie is much more than a breast cancer survivor—she is a true inspiration. Throughout her diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, she faced every challenge with remarkable courage, resilience, and positivity. Even while fighting her own battle, she continued to lift up those around her, offering encouragement, hope, and strength to others facing similar struggles. Watching her turn one of the most difficult experiences of her life into an opportunity to advocate for and support others has been nothing short of extraordinary.
It is because of people like Jackie that I am more determined than ever to raise funds, increase awareness, and continue walking year after year. Her strength reminds me why this fight matters and why we cannot stop until every person diagnosed with breast cancer has access to the care, support, and treatments they need—and ultimately, until a cure is found.
Your donation helps make that possible. Contributions support groundbreaking research, provide critical financial assistance, connect patients with emotional support through Komen's helpline, and help break down barriers to care for those facing breast cancer today. These programs change lives, offering hope when it is needed most.
My hope is that, through organizations like Susan G. Komen, we will continue to see more stories of courage, resilience, and survival like Jackie's—and someday achieve a world without breast cancer.
Ending breast cancer takes all of us. Together, we can show those facing this disease that they are not alone and that an entire community stands beside them every step of the way.
In honor of Jackie and everyone impacted by breast cancer, will you join me in this fight by making a donation today?
Thank you for your support, generosity, and belief in a future free from breast cancer.
