. We are walking in honor of my mom, Carmen Avila, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Like so many families, breast cancer and cancer-related illnesses have touched our lives in ways we never imagined. Through the heartbreak, we have learned the importance of research, early detection, support services, and the hope that organizations like Susan G. Komen provide to patients and their families.

We are participating in this event not only to honor her memory but also to support everyone currently fighting breast cancer, those who have survived, and the loved ones standing beside them. Every dollar raised helps fund lifesaving research, patient support programs, and efforts to move us closer to a world without breast cancer.
