In December 2025, I found a lump in my left breast. At the time, I hoped it was nothing serious. I had already been under close monitoring, so I waited for my six-month follow-up appointment.

In April 2026, my world changed.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Since then, my life has become a whirlwind of scans, biopsies, surgeries to plan, chemotherapy, countless appointments, and difficult decisions. I've learned more medical terminology than I ever wanted to know, and I've had to face fears I never imagined I'd have.

One of the hardest parts has been accepting how much cancer changes you not just physically, but emotionally. I've watched my hair fall out. I've cried over the changes to my body. I've worried about my children, my family, and what the future holds. There have been days filled with hope and days filled with fear.

But through it all, I've also discovered the incredible power of community.

My family, friends, coworkers, and complete strangers have surrounded me with prayers, encouragement, meals, care packages, and love. They remind me every day that I am not fighting this battle alone.

I'm walking because I believe no one should have to hear the words, "You have cancer."

I'm walking for the women currently sitting in infusion chairs.

I'm walking for the survivors who show us what's possible.

I'm walking for those we have lost.

And I'm walking for a future where fewer families have to experience the heartbreak that cancer brings.
