This year, our team is walking in Komen's MORE THAN PINK Walk in honor of someone who has shown us what true strength, courage, and resilience look like—Jennifer.

Jennifer's breast cancer journey began in December 2020 when she received a diagnosis that would change her life forever. Like so many others facing breast cancer, she was suddenly confronted with difficult decisions, uncertainty, and challenges she never expected. Yet through it all, she met every obstacle with determination, grace, and an unwavering positive spirit.

Following a lumpectomy and 20 rounds of radiation treatment, Jennifer celebrated the completion of her treatment in April 2021 by ringing the victory gong. It was a moment of hope, healing, and triumph.

For several years, things were going well. Then, in May 2024, Jennifer learned that her breast cancer had returned. Faced with another life-changing decision, she chose to undergo a double mastectomy with reconstruction. Once again, she faced the challenge head-on with courage and strength.

Over the past two years, Jennifer has endured multiple surgeries, medical appointments, and recovery periods. Yet cancer was only part of her story. While navigating her treatment and recovery, she continued pursuing her education and refused to let cancer define her future.

In an extraordinary display of perseverance, Jennifer recently graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration, all while fighting breast cancer for the second time.

Today, Jennifer is officially a two-time breast cancer survivor.

Her journey reminds us that survivorship is about more than overcoming a diagnosis. It's about finding strength when life is difficult, choosing hope when fear creeps in, and continuing to move forward no matter what challenges arise.

We walk to celebrate Jennifer's victories, honor all survivors and thrivers, remember those we have lost, and support those who are currently facing breast cancer. We also walk because too many families continue to be affected by this disease.
