Breast cancer has always been a cause that I care deeply about, but it became even more personal to me when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I joined the Broad Ripple Broads because I wanted to do more than simply support the cause—I wanted to be part of a group of women who are committed to making a difference. Every dollar we raise helps support the fight against breast cancer and, most importantly, helps women and families who are affected by this disease.

I have been inspired by so many of the women in the Broad Ripple Broads who have personally been touched by breast cancer—those who have fought it, those who are still fighting, those who have supported loved ones through it, and those who have sadly lost someone they love. Their stories are a constant reminder of why this work matters.

For me, raising money is about my mom, but it is also about every woman who has been affected by breast cancer and every woman who may face it in the future. I want to help provide hope, support, resources and, ultimately, work toward a future where fewer families have to hear the words, “You have breast cancer.”

I am incredibly proud to be a Broad Ripple Broad and grateful for everyone who supports me along the way. Together, we can make a difference—not just for the women fighting today, but for all those who come after them. 

This is why I raise. This is why I fight. And this is why I will continue to support the fight against breast cancer.
