My Story
This year marks my second year since my diagnosis with Stage 3c Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I found out with genetic testing that I was also positive for the BRCA-1 Gene, which made the possibility of me getting BC a massive 80% before I was around 36. Since I was born in 1999, there has been a huge growth in research and now the BRCA-1 Gene is recognized, tested, and can be removed during IVF treatment.
Think of all the progress that we could see in the next decade-- if not a year! With donations to credible charities and research facilities (like Susan G. Komen) I can only expect the best.
With that, this year, I have joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen "More Than Pink" Walk.
