Last October, my life changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As I mark the one-year anniversary of that diagnosis during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I find myself reflecting on the challenges, strength, support, and hope that have carried me through this journey.
Breast cancer is something that affects not only the person diagnosed but also their family, friends, and entire support system. I have been incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by people who lifted me up during some of my most difficult days. Their encouragement reminded me that I never had to face this battle alone.
This year, my cousin has formed a team for the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk in Atlanta, and my family and I are proud to be walking together in support of everyone impacted by breast cancer. For me, this walk is more than just an event. It is a celebration of survivorship, a chance to honor those we have lost, support those currently fighting, and help create a future where fewer families hear the words, "You have breast cancer."
I'm raising funds for Susan G. Komen because their work helps advance critical research, provides patient support, and offers resources for individuals and families facing breast cancer. Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a difference.
As I celebrate one year since my diagnosis, I walk with gratitude, hope, and determination. Thank you for supporting this cause and for helping us move closer to a world without breast cancer.
Together, we are stronger than cancer.
Thank you for your support.
