This year marks the 10th anniversary of my mother’s passing from breast cancer. Race for the Cure was always one of her favorite days of the year. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a celebration of life. She would dance, laugh, flirt with the firefighters, and cherish another year of survivorship. She faced breast cancer with incredible strength, joy, and resilience until the disease ultimately took her from us.
This year, we proudly continue the tradition she loved. We walk in her honor for the first time in a long time, celebrating the life she lived, the memories she gave us, and the hope that continued research and support will one day mean no family has to lose someone they love to breast cancer. Every step we take is for her.
