This year, my family and I are returning to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in honor of my beautiful mother, “Mimi,” and I would love for you to join our team as we walk, race, remember, and fight for a future without breast cancer.
In December 2024, our lives changed forever when my mom was diagnosed with metastatic Stage 4 breast cancer. It came as a complete shock. She had faithfully completed her yearly mammograms, and everything had always been normal… until suddenly, it wasn’t.
Despite the diagnosis, my mom faced every challenge with extraordinary strength, grace, and unwavering faith. Through chemotherapy and immunotherapy every other week, she continued to live fully, love deeply, and inspire everyone around her. Even during the hardest moments, her PET scans remained clear every three months, giving us hope and precious time together.
Then, in January 2026, the cancer spread to her brain. On March 3, 2026, we lost her.
The space she left in our family can never be filled.
But her love, courage, and spirit continue to guide us every single day.
One of my most treasured memories is watching her participate in the 2025 Race for the Cure in her wheelchair, smiling, determined, and surrounded by love. Even in the middle of her battle, she showed us what true strength looks like. She will forever be my greatest warrior.
This year, we race for her.
We race for every mother, daughter, sister, friend, and family facing breast cancer. We race for earlier detection, better treatments, more research, and hope. We race so that one day, no family has to experience this heartbreak.
I’m asking you from the bottom of my heart: will you join our team or consider making a tax-deductible donation in Mimi’s honor?
Every dollar raised supports lifesaving research, patient support, financial assistance, and care navigation for those facing breast cancer today.
Ending breast cancer takes all of us. Together, we can make a real difference and remind those fighting this disease that they are never alone.
Thank you for supporting our family, honoring my mom’s legacy, and standing with us in this fight.
We love you forever, Mimi.
