Your gift could provide a one month supply of Tamoxifen, a drug used to treat breast cancers that rely on estrogen for growth, to a patient in need. Every 60 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer. Your gift will help save lives! Your gift could provide a screening mammogram to an uninsured or underinsured person in need. Your gift could provide a breast prosthesis for an uninsured or underinsured woman in need. Your gift will help us reach our bold goal to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. within the next decade!

Welcome to my Race for the Cure page!

This year, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure means something very different to me.

I’m not just participating as a supporter — I’m participating as a breast cancer survivor.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 40 years old, I experienced firsthand how quickly life can change with the words “you have cancer.” I also experienced the incredible impact of research, advances in treatment, early detection, and a community of people determined to make breast cancer more survivable.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful to be on the other side of treatment, and I’m participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to help make sure more women get that same opportunity.

The money we raise does more than increase awareness. Komen invests in breast cancer research while also helping people who are facing the disease right now — through patient navigation, education, support services, and financial assistance for those struggling with the costs that can come with a breast cancer diagnosis.

Research has already changed what it means to be diagnosed with breast cancer, but there is still so much work to do — particularly for aggressive forms of the disease like mine.

I’m grateful for the research that helped make my treatment possible. I’m hopeful for a future where every person diagnosed with breast cancer has an effective treatment. And I want to do my small part to help us get there.

If you would like to support me, I would be so grateful for a donation to my Race for the Cure fundraiser. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps move breast cancer research and patient support forward.

Thank you for supporting me, supporting other survivors, and supporting the women and families who are still in the middle of this fight.

Together, we can help make a cure for breast cancer a reality!
