Two years ago, I fought for the life I have today and I will never take it for granted.
Cancer changed me. It taught me to care less about what doesn’t matter, love harder, live slower, travel more, protect my peace, put myself first when I need to, and be present for the people I love most. Perspective is everything.
Survivorship isn’t always easy. There is still pain to manage and healing that continues long after treatment ends. But getting to live a more “normal” life again, with my family, my kids, my career, and my community, is an incredible privilege.
Over these two years, I’ve turned my experience into purpose—becoming a breast cancer advocate and speaker, serving on education and patient boards, growing as a community leader, and returning to the healthcare career I love with an entirely different perspective. I fought hard to get here. Now I’m choosing to live just as hard.
As I celebrate 2 years cancer free, I’m asking you to help me fight for the next person. Please consider donating to my Susan G. Komen Walk this year. Every dollar helps move us closer to more survivors, more milestones, and more lives lived.
Stronger. Grateful. Still fighting. And thankful for every single day.
