My journey with the Susan G. Komen organization began ~15 yrs ago with the Texas Instruments team.
Initially, my involvement stemmed from a desire to support a noble cause but, it soon became profoundly personal. During those early years, I started to realize just how many of my colleagues, friends, and mentors were directly impacted by breast cancer.
A few years later, our family's world was turned upside down: my sister, Linda Balyta, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching her go through the treatment—the fear, the pain, and the uncertainty—was one of the most challenging periods for us. But it was also a time of immense resilience and incredible support. I’m thrilled to share that Linda is now a proud Survivor.
This fight against breast cancer is not just for those diagnosed, but for all of us who support, love, and stand by them. The Race for the Cure unites us as a community—to honor those we’ve lost, celebrate survivors, support those currently fighting to become survivors, and to strive for a future without breast cancer.
I am asking each of you today to join the Team in this fight. Whether it’s through walking or running with us on race day, making a donation, or simply spreading awareness, your support is invaluable.
Every step, every dollar, and every voice brings us closer to our goal.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
