Femmes Féroces is More Than Pink

Hi everyone!

Thanks for taking a few minutes to pop on over here. As you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer this past April. To say that was not on my bingo card for my 40th year on earth is an understatement. Being my very first mammogram with average risk and living a healthy & active lifestyle, it truly came as a shock and was the absolute worst day of my life. I felt like life as I knew it was over.

However, I'm pleased to say that that day feels like a lifetime ago and every day since then has been a positive step closer to recovery. Despite the not-so-lucky situation, I do still count every single blessing that has come my way and I know I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to anyone who has ever donated even $1 to breast cancer research.

Things have come so far in even a short time. Not so long ago, my specific diagnosis did not have as positive of an outcome, which is a hard pill to swallow when I stop & think about all the women who fought & perhaps weren't as lucky as I have been, knowing that my prognosis now has a 99% survival rate w/out recurrence after 7-10 years.

I have always supported breast cancer research, but this year I really want to champion the cause for every woman who fought & beat this disease, for those who fought until they couldn't any longer, for those still fighting, including myself, and especially for the millions of women of all ages who will be faced with this unwanted journey at some point in their lives.

Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer and funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those who might not be as lucky as I have been to have a tremendous support system behind them.

Your generosity can make a real difference, no matter how small and I hope you'll consider joining me in this fight by making a donation today AND by coming to walk with me in October!

Love always,

MeL
