I Am Living Proof!

On January 15th, I heard the words that no one is ever prepared to hear..."You have Breast Cancer". Later that week after extensive testing I was then told I was HER 2+, a very aggressive breast cancer...but curable! The reason it is curable is due to many years of research!  My oncologist told me, the cancer that is growing inside of me now, up until 1999, was a "Death Sentence". I am alive and fighting this battle due to 12 years of research and dedication by a team of doctors lead by Dr. Slamon. They never gave up and had the drug Herceptin approved in 1998. This drug has saved me and millions of women's lives!
So, in order to give back I have decided that on Saturday, October 24th I will be walking in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with Team Lord Abbett! This will be my 2nd year involved in this wonderful cause, but this year it is a little different, as I will be walking as a SURVIVOR! Research is why I am still here, but we need funding to have the research!  I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help.
