10-Year Survivor, now 2-time Warrior

While this year should have marked a major milestone in the form of my 10-year survivorship, it also became the year I was diagnosed for the 2nd time. After completing chemotherapy and undergoing surgery once again, I am even more motivated to raise awareness & fundraise as much as I can on behalf of this cause.

Breast Cancer screening generally does not begin until you are 40 years of age (excluding those with family history/other factors), and if I was not shown how to perform a self-exam at a young age, who knows where I would be as I am still not at the minimum age for regular screening.

Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support through Komen’s financial assistance program or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.
