For those who may not know me, breast cancer awareness is a cause that is deeply personal to me. I am a breast cancer survivor, having battled the disease in 2009, and I also have a strong family history of breast cancer.
Like so many across the Kelly family, I have been directly affected by this disease, and I've stood alongside close friends and loved ones who have faced this journey firsthand. Every year, I participate in the Race for the Cure in honor of those who fought this battle before me, for my dear friend Angie, who is courageously battling breast cancer today, and for the many Kelly team members, family members, and friends whose lives have been impacted by this disease.
I've seen the impact breast cancer has on individuals and families, but I've also seen the difference that support can make. Friends of mine have benefited from the very resources that Susan G. Komen helps provide, from guidance and education to emotional support and financial assistance during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Those experiences have stayed with me and are a big part of why I remain committed to this fight.
Being part of the Kelly Cancer Crusaders is about so much more than participating in a race. It's about showing up for the people we care about, honoring those who have fought before us, supporting those who are currently battling, and contributing to a future where no one has to face this disease. I race with hope that together we can help fund the research, support services, and breakthroughs needed to find a cure for this dreadful disease.
I'm proud to stand with the Kelly Cancer Crusaders and grateful for every participant, donor, volunteer, family member, and supporter who joins us in this mission. Together, we can truly make a difference.
