On January 16, 2026, I celebrated my THIRD ANNIVERSARY AS A BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR!!  Please join me on Saturday, May 9, 2026, for the 41ST MORE THAN PINK WALK/RACE series.  I am, again, participating on the Salem Lutheran Saints More Than Pink Walk Team as a THREE-YEAR Breast Cancer Survivor.

I have supported the Komen More Than Pink Walk/Race series,as well as, participated for the past 41 years as a Board Member, Grants Chairperson, Pray for the Cure and in other areas.  As a Breast Cancer survivor, I got to see the efforts first hand of many of the discoveries by National Komen grantees in action.   You see, I was at Komen National Granting in the late 90’s when Dr. Steven Harms presented his discovery of the breast MRI.  Everyone at that conference thought that a breast MRI would be too expensive.  However, thanks to Dr. Harm’s cutting-edge research using Komen dollars breast MRI’s are a part of the process today in preparation for surgery.  I, also, have two friends that have Breast MRIs annually.  Believe me it was amazing, and I am here to vouch for that today as a THREE-YEAR BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR.  I am dedicated to Komen’s ONE MISSION OF ENDING BREAST CANCER FOREVER, and I need your help.
