My Story
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. This past March, my mom received this life-altering diagnosis. I'd always heard about this horrific disease, but never imagined it would strike so close to home. I will never forget the moment we learned of my mom's diagnosis — the world seemed to stop as fear and uncertainty washed over me. My mom has always been my rock and my best friend. If I could have, I would have taken on her pain myself, but all I could do was stand by her side, hold her hand during treatments, and remind her of her incredible strength. I am grateful to share that my mom is doing well and is starting her chemotherapy journey. Each step forward brings us hope, even as she continues to face challenges with courage. My mom is truly one of the strongest women I know, and I aspire to be half as resilient as she is. This year, I am walking for her in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
