My oncologist told me if my own breast cancer diagnosis had come just years earlier I would have received painful and unnecessary treatment I didn't actually need. But because the research into understanding and curing breast cancer is making such advances, they are much better able to target specific treatments for women that are more effective and less impactful to their lives.
