My Story
This years walk is going to be a lot different than last years was for me. In a GOOD way!! This time last year I was recently diagnosed. Plans had to change due to a pesky little lymph node. So now chemo WAS going to be needed in addition to the lumpectomy and radiation. Yay me! Lumpectomy was done 1/24/25. I began active treatment on April 3, 2025 and finished on 9/22/2025. It was a long spring and summer, but I got thru it. Not alone, but with the help from family and friends. Couldn’t have done it without them!! Grateful is an understatement!! The journey is not over, and most likely will never be. Port stays in for 5 years, I’ll be on the nasty little white pill for 5 years, if not longer and everything else that comes along with it. The side effects suck big time, but I’ve always said, “ it beats the alternative”. So here I am, walking this year as a WARRIOR!! I really don’t care for the word survivor, because what choice do we really have?!?!? We have to FIGHT with everything we have. So here’s to us!! If you can join my team, please do. If not, please make a donation to help everyone that has to face this diagnosis to not have to fight alone!!! Thanks!!!
