Our Story

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June, had Surgery in August, and will be started radiation on Wednesday. I am doing well as I am fortunate mine was caught early since I am eligible for more frequent, in depth screenings (MRIs) due to family history - I can?t stress how critical this was in my case. My cancer was not visible via mammogram and I was told I was lucky I had the MRI when I did since it was very likely it would have been a later stage by the time it was visible. Ron, Mom, and I are walking the Komen 5k on October 18th to support survivors and Breast Cancer research, but I am telling my story in the hopes that it inspires even one person to get that mammogram or MRI that they have been putting off - DON?T.
