At Skanska, Care for Life means more than keeping each other safe on the job site. It means standing shoulder-to-shoulder when life throws challenges our way.

Breast cancer doesn’t just touch patients — it ripples across families, friends, coworkers, and entire communities. In construction, that impact is deeply felt: the foreman balancing a schedule with a spouse’s treatment; the laborer worrying about a sister’s diagnosis; the project manager supporting a loved one through recovery.

These struggles don’t stop at the site gate. They weigh heavily on mental health, adding stress, fatigue, and worry that can be just as hard to carry as any physical load. By walking together in the More than PINK Walk, we recognize that the fight against breast cancer is also a fight for compassion, support, and awareness of mental health across our workforce.

When we lace up our shoes, we walk not just for survivors, but for caregivers, families, and every construction professional quietly carrying this burden. We walk to reduce stigma, to open conversations, and to show that no one in our industry walks alone.

The money our team raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance and so much more.
