Our Story

When I was two years old, I lost my grandmother to breast cancer. Because of this, I have been diligent about getting my preventative screenings done yearly. Almost exactly a year ago, I had a life-saving test! My annual mammogram detected something that wasn’t right. After further testing, I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ at the age of 49.

The past year has been a roller coaster of emotions, but along the way, I have had the most incredible support team walking alongside me. I will forever be grateful to the many family members, friends, doctors, nurses, and even complete strangers who have helped me heal both physically and emotionally.

I walk for my grandmother, for everyone battling breast cancer, and for those we’ve lost. Early detection saved my life, and I want others to know they’re not alone. This is why I walk—to give back, raise awareness, and inspire others.

As a member of this team, we are each playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their  mission to end breast cancer forever.

The money our team raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance and so much more.

Ending breast cancer needs all of us. United together, we can support those who need help today, while fearlessly searching for tomorrow's cures.
