Our Story

Breast cancer took my Mom away when she was 60. She led a great life. She raised her three children to adulthood. She got to meet two of her grandchildren. She had a successful career. She was liked and well-respected by everyone who met her.

But she left behind a husband who loved her for the 41 years they were married. She left behind children, and grandchildren, and friends that loved her. She didn’t get to come to my wedding. She didn’t get to meet either of my children. She never saw the house we live in. I was never able to ask her parenting advice.

How many other people in the world will be taken from us prematurely? How many people could we save from going through what my Mom went through? How many families could we save from going through what my family went through? And of all those people we could save, how many people could we save by donating to Susan G. Komen now?

I truly believe the work that Susan G. Komen does saves lives. Every. Single. Day. Who knows what technologies and breakthroughs have occurred in the last 15 years since my Mom died that could have saved her. Or at least prolonged her life. And Susan G. Komen was an integral part of a lot of those breakthroughs.

Please consider giving to Susan G. Komen today. Help save lives. Help prolong lives. Help those living with breast cancer. It really is that easy.
